Stand and Deliver

We saw the movie Stand and Deliver. Jaime Escalante was suppose to be a technology teacher but he turned into a math teacher because he saw the lack of teaching math in a school named Garfield High School. He first began by teaching basic math because his student had middle school knowledge so he wanted to test them out. Then he had a student named Angel  that was a cholo or homie who was really smart but didn't want to show it in front of his friends. Jaime then showed his class that they need math in everyday life by taking a trip to a factory or something like that. During that trip one of his classmates ask him what were the numbers on the computer at the factory. He explained that all of the equations and numbers were calculus. He decided to teach his algebra class calculus although so many teachers doubt that he will not teach them because they aren't smart. Then his whole class takes the AP calculus test and they all pass. The AP test council things they cheated though so they have to take the test again. This time they pass again but with different grades which were good. I thought this movie was racist because they thought the students at the school cheated because the school has low reputation, grades, and is mainly Mexican-American school which is why the council thought they cheated.
