- How did the two games handle the issue of homelessness?
- Do you think one was better than the other?
- What would you do to improve either game?
- What kind of a game would you make about this issue?
The games that I played about homelessness today handle the topic very delicately but with true facts about it. They made sure to let the player know how the world is when someone's in poverty and treated the topic with respect.
I personally think that the game, "Help Larry Eat Tonight" was more hands on in letting someone know how the life of a poor person is. Although, both were still able to give off an image of poverty either way.
To improve the first game I would make it less quiz-like and more of an actual game. It just ask nothing but questions which is not the way to get someone to learn because it's boring. It's important for the game to have some fun factors for it to stick to a persons' head.
I think that to teach someone about homelessness in a game form, I would make the game in a jumping and platform format. This is basically saying I'll make it an adventure game so that similar to the Larry game, the player will be able to get a digital experience of poverty and see the obstacles people face.
Nice. The thing that I liked about your blog is you being honest, and how you would improve the game in a good way. Not being too complex on your explanation. Just something brief. Also, I liked the idea of creating a platform game in order for the players not get bored and enjoy the game. To learn something in a fun way and not in a boring way,
