The Lottery
We watched a movie called the "Lottery". It was a sad and cool movie. I think that the movie really thought me some crazy things. It said that they determine how many jail cells they need to make by seeing the percentage of 4th and 5th grade students that are failing. Some people thought that they should shut down schools that has a low percent on overall. Then some people didn't want Harlem Success academy to move into the the neighborhood because then there wasn't going to be enough space for there child to go to school. That's why they had the lottery. That was kind of sad because only 400 out of 3000 students got accepted or at least that's what I think. It showed and it also said, that some kids went back to their old school. Which I taught it was cool because they still get the chance to get an education just at another school. The movie taught me to appreciate any chance I have to get in to a school and never take it for granted.
